The Importance of Prayer

9:39:00 AM

"Pray without ceasing." (1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV)

Prayer is a pretty important thing. But why? Prayer is talking to God. How would you feel if you saw your best friend everyday but he never talked to you? You probably wouldn't be best friends anymore. That's how it is with God; how do you stay in close fellowship with Him without talking to Him?

But why should we always be praying?

"Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4: 6-7 KJV)

Prayer lifts the burdens of life off our shoulders and places them in God's capable hands. When we know that God holds the future, we can have peace no matter the circumstance.

And that's why prayer is so important... it takes the stress away from everyday life and makes us bring every burden to Christ.

"Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost." (Romans 15:13 KJV)

Prayer reminds us of the hope we have, which will give us joy and peace in this life.
