Dealing with Rejection

Monday, May 22, 2017

Have you ever experienced the sting of rejection? Whether from a close friend or just an acquaintance?

Rejection can come in all shapes and forms. From losing a friendship to not being hired for a job you wanted, rejection can be a devastating blow to the way we look at ourselves.

When you're climbing up "rejection mountain", you're hurting from the way others have treated you. You wonder why you weren't 'good enough' for them. And you start to think that maybe you're not 'good enough' for anyone else either.

Rejection is often the most painful when you're placing your sense of worth or purpose in the person. When you're looking for his approval. And when you don't measure up, you feel almost worthless.

That's why you've got to watch where you're placing your worth and purpose. Is it in a person? Because if so, you're setting yourself up for the pain of rejection.

Sometimes rejection is God's way of saying "I've got something better in store for you."

So trust God that there is a reason for everything that happens.
