The Reason for the Season // New Years

Happy 2018 friends!! The New Year is here and it's time to make our resolutions for 2018, right?

Well, whether you'll be making resolutions or not, New Years is definitely a time for New Things, don't you think?

So, this post I'm doing to talk about some new things that I hope this New Year will bring to all of you.
The New Year is about new beginnings; getting a fresh start on life. I mean, that's why people make resolutions this time of year. They look back on the previous year and think 'hey, here's some things I want to change' and they tell themselves they are going to change those things. Now, a lot of people give up on their goals early in the year, but that doesn't have to be you. As long as you're making your goals attainable and not ridiculous, you can reach them.

Pro tip: Don't make goals that are way out of you league. Example: if you never worked out last year, you're probably not going to be going to the gym every single day this year.

Be sure that you're goals are attainable so you won't be setting yourself up for failure.

Something else, you don't have to have huge goals. The little things are just as important as the big things, so don't limit yourself to "big goals" only.
Every year we all get older, and getting older means we have more choices to make. For the teen entering adulthood, there's the choice of colleges, who to marry, what job to take, and many others.
For the newly married couple, there's the choice of what house to buy, what car to buy, or how many kids to have.

All through life we have choices, and every year we are presented with more.

There are choices about:
  • how to spend our money
  • who we spend time with
  • how we spend our time
  • what we eat
  • how we act and
  • where we go.
Just because we made some bad choices about these things in previous years, doesn't mean we have to keep making those bad choices.

Whenever you're faced with a choice where you don't know what to do, take it to the Lord in prayer and see if He reveals the answer to you in His Word.

In 2018, I'm going to try and make all my decisions in the light of God's Word. Will you join me?
Every year brings uncertainty to where we will be in life, and that uncertainty will bring us to new places and new adventures. Each stage in life has us reaching out for new things to try and explore; new places to visit, new friends to meet, and new experiences to learn from.

All of this is part of our learning and growing.

So here's to the new adventures and friends we will meet this year along life's path.

I pray that this year, 2018, you will learn, you will grow, and you will trust God with everything He has planned for you. <3
"...I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." ~ John 10:10 KJB
